Dayne sent me this link at the start of the week, "10 of the best coffee shops in Bristol" and I visited my first one today with a new friend from TEC, Bri. The funny thing is, Bri and I didn't work at TEC the same summers... well, we KIND OF did in 2012, but I was only there for a short week so I didn't connect with her.
I could go into a whole story now about TEC and relationships and how TEC brings people together and all that jazz... I actually did already type the story but decided to save it for another time. It's all really just to say how thankful I am for the TEC community. I haven't been there in years and really only am decent, at best, at keeping in touch with a few co-counselors. I can't tell you how many reached out to me once they discovered I was moving to England. Just like Bri, who I didn't actually work with or have a relationship with, and now here I am, just getting back from coffee at Small Street Espresso.
TEC aside: the coffee was really good. They didn't have hazelnut to put in my latte, but the sandwich I got (and again, I should have written down the name) was tasty enough it made up for it and left me glad there wasn't an extra flavor in my coffee.
Also, I got myself from Small Street Espresso to Primark to purchase a coat by myself! Looking at a map, it's really not that far, but I am directionally challenged so it was a proud moment.
